This position provides pharmacist expertise in support of utilization management programs that provide drug therapy cost containment while ensuring quality care in pharmacy benefit management for workers compensation clients and their injured workers. POSITION LOCATION IS TUCSON, ARIZONA.

Monitors provider prescribing habits and makes recommendations to prescribers telephonically to improve drug therapy regimens for injured workers as appropriate.
Educates, supports and assists pharmacy technician colleagues involved in the clinical pharmacy benefit program operations. Completes client specific reports outlining prescription drug spend trends with recommendations for pharmacy benefit management cost containment strategies and clinical program outcomes Writes and maintains clinical pharmacy process procedural documents.
Assists in creating and maintaining preferred drug lists consistent with state workers compensation regulations and that meet clients specific requirements. Writes drug utilization reviews based on prescription drug claim history and medical records. Assists in researching for and writing drug therapy and pharmacy benefit newsletters and bulletins for clients.
Identify customer’s pain points
Create a strategic plan that addresses those pain points
Manage and achieve the strategic goals
Handle customer requests providing data and training as requested or needed

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Pharmacy/Licensed Pharmacist is required
Pharmacy/Registered Pharmacist (RPh) is required

Functional – Clinical/Medical/Consultative informatics/1-3 Years
Functional – Project Management/Project Leader/1-3 Years
