PharmacyThisWeek: Entrepreneurs Deserve More Respect, 155 new jobs, Employer Spotlight

July 31, 2013

Welcome to PharmacyThisWeek!

I read two interesting articles this past week that I found diametrically opposite. And as an entrepreneur for the last 42 years I hope I never find myself out of a job! After reading them I would like to know what you think.

Entrepreneurs Deserve More Respect

In some circles — the Oval Office included — entrepreneurship is considered to be the “engine of the economy.” But do many of us actually hold entrepreneurs in such high regard? Probably not. Why? It’s a numbers game. Since more than 75% of start-ups fail, it’s hard to sing the praises of the entrepreneurial spirit; instead, we bestow prestige on salaried, promotion-happy careerists — “cubicle capitalists,” as it were. But remember: every company, even Fortune 500 behemoths, started small. So we should praise and supportentrepreneurs who challenge the status quo. Failure, risk, and uncertainty be damned.

Praise Entrepreneurs, Not Cubicle Capitalists

Entrepreneurs need not apply: Companies shun the self employed

It was another great week for new job listings, we added 155, total job listings are now 998! As we haven’t spotlighted all of our regular advertisers in a few weeks the list follows. Their openings change weekly so be sure and check out their latest opportunities.
