Jet Setter Pharmacist: The Lakeside Playground of Coeur d'Alene

April 21, 2011

As a pharmacist, you have options when it comes to where you work, and at PharmacyWeek we see several pharmacy job opportunities cross desks every day that even make us want to get up and go work at these dream destinations. Jet Setter Pharmacist highlights great job openings in even better locations, and what makes these locations and employers so unique!

LOCATION: Coeur d’Alene, ID

EMPLOYER: Kootenai Health

POSITION: Pharmacy Manager

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT:Coeur d’Alene is the center of business and recreational activity in the Inland Northwest complete with festivals, fairs, concerts, unique bistros, and elegant restaurants, thriving downtown, mall shopping and much more.

Discover Coeur d’Alene City Beach, the perfect complement to a picnic in the park. Or take a hike around Tubbs Hill, a 120 acre waterfront preserve on the downtown waterfront. Stroll the world’s longest floating boardwalk at The Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Whitewater rivers surround Coeur d’Alene for rafting and kayaking or you can enjoy fun filled days at Coeur d’Alene area theme and water parks. Anyway you like it, you can have fun on the wet and wild side.

The Coeur d’Alene area boasts three ski resorts offering over 131 runs, vertical drops of 2,200 feet and over 4,700 acres. Getting to each of the resorts is just a short drive from Coeur d’Alene and Idaho is home to some of the West’s driest powder.

Golf in North Idaho is simply stunning. Perhaps the best challenge North Idaho offers is found on the 14th tee at The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course, site of the world-famous floating green.

The Coeur d’Alene area is surrounded by dozens of lakes left behind by the glaciers of the ice age. There are more than 55 lakes within easy driving distance of Coeur d’Alene, but none more scenic and full of activities than Lake Coeur d’Alene itself. There’s something magical about Lake Coeur d’Alene that’s hard to define, but it begins with the spectacular North Idaho sunsets and moonrises, the plunge of an osprey after a fish, the glowing lights of downtown Coeur d’Alene reflecting across its waters at night.
